I am a self taught artist and printmaker working with a range of techniques to create unique pieces of artwork. Living in a village close to the Kent coast, the surrounding countryside never fails to provide me with a range of inspiration. After graduating, I enjoyed a long career designing and managing exhibitions, until life allowed me more time to develop my passion for drawing, painting and experimenting with different materials and techniques. Inspired by the natural world, most of my work includes a combination of materials to explore colour, pattern, line and texture; at other times I can be found engrossed in a detailed pencil drawing. Whatever the medium or subject, everything I do is always handmade with love.

About my work

Linocut printing involves carving a design into a lino surface, then applying ink and pressing it onto paper. The whole process is lengthy and patience is essential - the beauty is that as a result of the hand made process, each print will include slight variations to the next due to the materials, the pressure applied and even the environment at the printing stage. The subtle differences and the gradual wear of the block, makes every finished print beautifully individual and unique.
